2018 City of Sydney International Masters

27 & 28 January 2018

The City of Sydney Masters is one of the oldest events on the Australian Scrabble Calendar. In 1999 it went international and was won by Nigel Richards. For some time thereafter, the $1000 first place prizemoney was maintained, with mainly Australians players contesting the event. In 2012 the prizemoney was raised to $US2500 and in doing so qualified it for international rating. David Eldar, an Australian now residing in London took out the honours. Four other internationals took part.

Note: The 2018 CSIM is being preceded by the one day Australia Day Open on January 26th. This is an eight game event at the same venue open to all. Further information including a flyer can be found on the Scrabble NSW Tournament calendar.
