The tournament started a little late because of the non-arrival of three players. Fifty-three people enjoyed the food, air-conditioning and the games. It was a day for lovers of Scrabble, as manifested by the presence of Jean McGiffen (1st in A Division) and John Barker (3rd in A Division), as well as Graeme Lock Lee - and last but not least, Diana Field, who doesn't miss a tournament if she can help it.
There were two novices - Trevor Parnell (young) and Ivor F. (older), a well known Blacktown identity who decided Scrabble was not his forte and left before the end of the last game! Trevor did well to come 8th in C Division.
Players came from Ulladulla, Canberra, Wollongong and the Blue Mountains. Many thanks to those people for their support and to everyone who came. There was certainly plenty of room to move round!
