The Newcastle Tournament was held on the 25th of July at the Panthers club King Street Newcastle.
A lovely venue with plenty of room to sit and chat between games.
A few hiccups to start ..which was a huge learning curve for us as it was the first time we had done a tournament without our former president Robert Disney's help.
Novocastrians performed well and Robyn Flynn from Maitand won the masters in fine form with 7 wins.
Therese Newman won the high word in masters with "broughs scoring 114 points and hlgh game with 532 points.
Rosalie Tobin won the Intermediate section with 6 wins and Trish Chisholm achieved the high word with "squared" scoring 98 points.
Novice Tim Golding also from Newcastle won the Recreation division doing very well with 6 wins also achieving the high game with 442 points.
Colleen Walker achieved her 1st trophy coming 2nd in Intermediate.
We enjoyed the presence of two Queenslanders Olga Visser and Martin Waterworth
Thankyou to my fellow colleagues who worked well as a team and I hope you will agree that the raffle was a great effort with personally donated prizes to ensure that everyone had a better chance of winning prize. Thankyou also to all other helpers and we will see you all again next year.
