After getting off to a latish start with 79 players everything proceeded without further hiccups.
Niagara Park Community Centre was a new venue for us and having received positive feedback we will be looking to hold out 2007 tournament there as well.
"Our" Wendy Lee took out 1st place in Recreation with 6 games, 2nd place went to Laura Morgan with 5 games (margin 389) and 3rd place to Shirley Crocker, 5 games (290). High game was won by Laura Morgan with a score of 438 and there was a tie for high word between Hazel Knudsen "FLAXING" and Ian Kesby "FLUGGING". Both scored 96 points, both received a prize.
First place in Intermediate was Stephanie Muldoon with 7 games, 2nd was Maree Heynen, 5 games (270) and 3rd was Kathryn Tiffin also 5 games (226). "Our" Margaret Clifford took out both high game - 501 pts - and high word "WIDGIES" 110.
In Advanced 1st place went to Colleen Walker with 5 1/2 games, 2nd was Janine Whittaker 5 games (302) & 3rd was "our" Fay Wassell 5 games (122). Nanette Reynolds had highest game with 498 and Liz Jackman scored 109 for "HOAXERS" which was the highest word.
Richard Birch was the winner in Masters with 6 games, Joan Rosenthal was 2nd with 5 games (453) and Trish Windhurst 3rd also with 5 games (434). High game was won by Ian Close 518 pts and Audrey Newman scored 140 for "SPLITTER"
Stephanie Muldoon (Intermediate) gained the most rating points (182) and next was Richard Birch (Masters) with 107 points
